A Day in Lake Forest

Are you going to be making a trip to The Oaks at Portola Hills soon? Why not make it a full day adventure? Lake Forest and the surrounding area is full of local shops and restaurants for you to enjoy. If you decide to call The Oaks at Portola Hills home, you will be in the center of it all. Located minutes from beautiful shops and decadent restaurants, while also adjoining Whiting Ranch Wilderness Park. Truly the best of both worlds.

Our favorite shopping center in the area, and the favorite of many locals, is the Irvine Spectrum Shopping Center. This massive shopping center features nearly 200 shops and restaurants. No matter your taste buds or style, you’ll be able to find what you are looking for at this shopping epicenter of Orange County.

Want to snack on something a little more distinct? We have a few favorite restaurants to recommend to you!

Second Reef Deli - This surf style sandwich shop will have you hanging ten. This local eatery takes pride in the SoCal lifestyle by making great sandwiches, salads, and house made sides with fresh ingredients. A must eat when you’re making a mid-day trip.

Yamame - On a sushi kick? This sushi restaurant is known as the best in the area. Yamame is a small intimate restaurant, but what it lacks in size it makes up for in its authentic sushi and complimentary dessert!

Piccolino Ristorante - Looking for great Italian? Piccolino Ristorante is your spot! This local favorite features an extensive menu full of Italian favorites. Our favorite time to visit is during their afternoon happy hour, where you will always find the Grilled Sausage Wheel and 10” Cheese Pizza on our table.

We are looking forward to seeing you on your next trip to The Oaks at Portola Hills and encourage you to visit these local favorites. See you then!
